Another possibility (not recommended): ~ ~ Author's zgoubi version
- zgoubi contains the zgoubi code itself
- zpop contains a program for plotting zgoubi results
- common and include contain fortran and include files common to zgoubi and zpop.
Follow the steps below to install Zgoubi. There must be at least 400 MB of free disk space available to hold the expanded files.
Be sure to read the entire set of instructions below before beginning the installation.

Step 1 - Create a folder for storing the ZGOUBI code, docs, & ZPOP
- Choose a location that does NOT have blanks in any of the higher-level folder names.
- For example, on Windows, do not choose a location such as "c:\Program Files".
- Instead, choose a location such as "c:\my_zgoubi", for Windows, or "~/my_zgoubi" for Linux, Macs, or Cygwin.
- Administrative (root) access is not required for the installation, so long as you can create & access this folder.
- For everything that follows, we will refer to this folder as MY_ZGOUBI.
Step 2 - Copy files from the website (above) to the MY_ZGOUBI folder
- Click on "Download Snapshot" from the link above
- Expand the files in your directory:
- In a linux machine type: unzip -a zgoubi-code-xxx-trunk
- Open a command-line window (terminal app or xterm on Mac/Linux/Cygwin :
- Compile zgoubi:
make
